About Us

Pinecone Yoga: Nature-Based Yoga & Meditation™

Pinecone Yoga is more than a pop-up yoga practice, it’s a nature-rooted community. Our nature-based approach blends physical postures, breathwork, and meditation with deep reverence for the natural world. Drawing from traditional yoga and Ayurvedic principles, we explore the seasonal rhythms and landscape around us to shape and inspire our practice. Whether on the mat or moving through daily life, we listen to our bodies and invite curiosity, connection, and a sense of play.

We call our approach Nature-Based Yoga & Meditation™, and all of our offerings—from classes to retreats to teacher trainings—are grounded in this philosophy.

We offer donation-based community classes through our local farmers market, live music & yoga events, nature-based yoga retreats, and immersive teacher trainings. Our 200-hour Nature-Based Yoga Teacher Training and continuing education modules equip teachers to lead thoughtfully and with compassion. We believe great teachers nurture strong communities and this has a reciprocal effect on our practice.

We are committed to honoring yoga’s roots while making space for new growth. Thank you to the Upper Peninsula yoga community and beyond for supporting this practice.

Meet Cat, Founder & Lead Trainer

Cat, E-RYT 500® and YACEP®, is the heart behind Pinecone Yoga. With over 10 years and 2,000+ hours of teaching experience, she’s known for creating warm, inclusive spaces rooted in presence, compassion, and ease.

A lifelong lover of the outdoors, Cat’s connection to nature has grown stronger throughout her journey. Her time training off-grid at the Mystical Yoga Farm in Lake Atitlán, Guatemala, helped deepen this connection and inspire the development of her Nature-Based Yoga and Meditation™ approach. The natural beauty of the Upper Peninsula further encouraged her to share a practice that values simplicity, connection, and the seasons we live in.

Outside the studio, Cat enjoys rock climbing, traveling, cooking, making art, and spending time outdoors with her husband.
